Diabetes is a disease that is can be terrible and ultimately and lead to other diseases. However with a lifestyle change it can be changed and even reversed. While it totally can't be totally be changed it can be controlled without medication. Since being diagnosed in March, I have learned how to adjust my life to cope with my disease. It is who I am I am a Type 2 diabetic, but it doesn't have to rule me.
Eat small, frequent meals throughout the day. This can keep your blood sugar stable and prevent overeating. This promotes healthy weight management.
Pair protein with Carbohydrate-rich foods, including fruits and starchy veggies. Protein and fiber digest slowly while carbohydrates digest fast. Providing the combinations prevents blood sugar spikes.
Eat a fruit or a veggie with every meal and snack.
Drink water; and lots of it. Being dehydrated raises blood sugar.
Include Cinnamon in your diet, Research has proven that cinnamon can keep your blood sugar in check. So load up on the cinnamon!!!
Drink freshly pressed fruit and veggie juice. It is better to do it yourself.
